Omarosa releases recordings of Trump and others to ramp up publicity for new book – Trump hits backs hard

Former reality star and Trump staffer, Omarosa, has released slew of recordings that were made while she was in the process of being fired from her job at the White House in what appears to be a publicity move just prior to her new book being released – she has also hinted at having many other such recordings.  Among those taped were President Trump in conversation with her on the day after she was fired.  Trump seemed surprised and sympathetic to her situation:

Trump: “Omarosa, what’s going on? I just saw in the news you’re thinking about leaving. What happened?”

Omarosa: “General Kelly — General Kelly came to me and said that you guys wanted me to leave.”

Trump: “No. Nobody even told me about it.  You know, they run a big operation but I didn’t know it. I didn’t know that. Damn it, I don’t love you leaving at all.”

In response to the release of the recordings, Trump hit back at Omarosa saying, “never made it, never will” and said she was “vicious, but not smart.”

He later tweeted something that Omarosa should be very concerned about if true, “Wacky Omarosa already has a fully signed Non-Disclosure Agreement!”

To give context to Omarosa’s job situation at the White House and why she was fired Politico gives a good snippet:

[White House chief of staff John Kelly] dismissed the former director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison, Omarosa Manigault, who had been using the White House car service — known as “CARPET” — as an office pick-up and drop-off service, something strictly forbidden by the federal government, according to three administration officials.

And apparently the “free” car service wasn’t the only White House amentiy Omarosa took advantage of.  After a wedding ceremony in April of last year, she brought back with her a 39 person wedding party to the White House for an extravagant photo shoot.  This reported infuriated fellow West Wing staffers.
