President Trump ‘Low Expectations’ for Monday Meeting with Putin

President Trump and President Putin will be meeting in Helsinki, Finland on Monday July 16.  The Finnish capital will host a summit that will begin talks that both sides hope will begin to repair battered US and Russian relations.  And though both presidents have been complimentary towards each other thus far, neither is going into the meeting with very high expectations.  Trump told CBS Evening News that he even though he “believes having meetings” and “nothing bad can come from meetings” he was going into the summit with “very low expectations”.

The two presidents will have plenty to discuss including current sanctions against Russia, the returning of confiscated diplomatic property after a wave of expulsions and retaliatory action prompted by the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain.  And, of course the new news of 12 Russians being indicted with conspiring to interfere with the 2016 Presidential election.
